Brendon McCullum Points Out The Differences Between Chennai Super Kings And Royal Challengers Bangalore

Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has been a globetrotter in a true sense travelling all around the globe to play franchise-based T20 cricket. He has also played for various franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and recently differentiated between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings.

McCullum set the stage on fire in 2008 IPL striking 158 in the opening game for Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then, he has gone on to represent four more franchises – Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kochi Tuskers Kerala (now defunct), Gujarat Lions (now defunct), and Chennai Super Kings before hanging his boots. Overall, he has amassed 2881 runs from 109 matches and was a nightmare to the bowlers during his prime.

During a recent chat with Cricbuzz, Brendon McCullum has pointed out the difference between the Super Kings and the Royal Challengers. The two sides have had contrasting fortunes in the league. While MS Dhoni-led Chennai has reached the playoffs in all the seasons they have played winning three titles, the Virat Kohli-led Bangalore is yet to put a hand on the glorious trophy.

Dissecting on what has gone wrong for the franchise from Karnataka, McCullum said that there are a lot of white noises around the team which has not helped them.

“One team gives selection loyalty and works on the team they have; the other chases a perfect team and doesn’t have a blueprint for how they are going to play. “CSK has very little “white noise” around them. RCB have too much,” McCullum was quoted as saying in Cricbuzz.

After hanging the boots, Brendon McCullum is now associated with coaching and is the head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, the future of IPL 2020 looks gloomy amid the rise of coronavirus.
