The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy promises to be a cricketing spectacle, uniting fans from across the globe to witness top teams battle for glory. A key highlight of this tournament is the much-awaited final, scheduled for March 9, 2025. However, ticket sales for the final come with a unique twist, sparking excitement and intrigue among cricket enthusiasts. The ICC Champions Trophy, one of the most prestigious cricket tournaments, returns in 2025 with eight elite teams vying for supremacy. Starting February 19, the tournament spans across two host nations, Pakistan and the UAE, offering fans a feast of world-class cricket.
The Unique Ticket Release for the Final
In a surprising move, the ICC has announced that tickets for the final will only be available four days prior to the match, beginning March 5, 2025, after the conclusion of the first semi-final. The delay stems from the hybrid hosting arrangement necessitated by India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan. To accommodate this, the ICC has structured the tournament such that all India matches, including potential knockouts, will be held in Dubai. If India reaches the final, it will be held in Dubai. However, should India not qualify, the final will move to Lahore. This flexibility ensures logistical efficiency but complicates ticket availability.
The group stages include exciting matchups, such as the highly anticipated India-Pakistan game on February 23 in Dubai, followed by the first semi-final in Dubai on March 4 and the second semi-final in Lahore, with the final venue depending on the finalists.
Making Tickets Affordable for Fans
Tickets for matches in Pakistan are budget-friendly, with general category tickets priced at 1000 PKR (approx. $3.59) and premium category tickets at 1500 PKR (approx. $5.38). The ICC has yet to announce ticket sales for the Dubai leg, keeping fans eagerly awaiting further updates.
According to Sumair Ahmad Syed, the tournament director, affordability is a priority to ensure fans from diverse backgrounds can partake in this cricketing celebration.
Syed said, “The tickets have been made affordable to ensure fans from all walks of life can be part of this historic spectacle, making it a celebration for all generations of cricket lovers.”
India and Pakistan: A Rivalry Rekindled
India and Pakistan are both in Group A, along with Bangladesh and New Zealand. The highly anticipated India-Pakistan group game is scheduled to take place in Dubai on February 23. If both teams advance to the semi-finals or final, fans could witness another high-stakes showdown, amplifying the excitement.

Stadium Preparations in Pakistan
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is working tirelessly to prepare venues for the event. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi’s National Stadium, and Rawalpindi are undergoing renovations to meet international standards.
Before the Champions Trophy, a triangular ODI series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa will act as a dress rehearsal for the venues.
