Keep Watching IPL- Chris Gayle

Meanwhile, after KXIP’s exit from the season, Gayle took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support. He also urged his fans to keep watching the tournament. His message perhaps was also a hint that this might be the last IPL season of his career. Chris Gayle is ageing 40 at the moment, however, he still showed his prowess with the bat in the tournament.

“Plz continue to watch @IPL even though my season has come to an end. Thank you,” Gayle said on Twitter.

Chris Gayle also became the first player to hit 1000 T20 sixes in T20. Kieron Pollard with 690 is the second-best on the list.

“I’ve been having fun out there batting with youngsters and it’s a good thing. I don’t know the record (about the 1000 sixes), I’m still hitting it well. The hard work and dedication over the years have paid off. To the guys who I promised to get a century, I missed out today but in my mind, it’s a century,” said Gayle on his record feat in the format.

He concluded by expressing his desire to win an IPL trophy albeit he is ageing 40 and in the wane of his career. Chris Gayle is yet to win an IPL trophy and will be desperate to finish his career with a trophy under his belt.

“To be honest, it’s all about the mental aspect of my game and that’s what keeps me going. I’m enjoying the cricket the same way. I’d love to have the IPL trophy under my belt, but still a long way to go” concluded the Universe Boss.
