Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022 opener on March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium. It will be a replication of the IPL 2021 final on Saturday.

The first doubleheader of the season will be held on March 27, with Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians to face off in the afternoon game, at the Brabourne stadium, while Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will feature in the second game at the DY Patil stadium.

There is set to be a total of 12 doubleheader days, with six double-headers on Saturdays and six on Sundays.

New entrants In IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Kings will begin their journey on March 28 when they lock horns against each other at Wankhede.

The penultimate league game is set to be held on May 21, featuring Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede stadium. The final league game will be played at the same venue on May 22, with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Punjab Kings.

The Wankhede stadium and the DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each during the league stage, while the Brabourne stadium and the MCA stadium in Pune will play host for 15 matches apiece.

The schedule for 58 days and 70 games, starting from March 26 to May 22 has been announced while the itinerary for the play-offs has not yet been shared with the teams.

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be the home for the playoffs with the finals scheduled on May 29.
