The 40-year-old Imran Tahir made his ODI debut against South Africa on 24th February 2011. He has played 98 ODIs ( 96 innings) and taken 162 wickets with an economy of 4.62 runs per over.



In the ongoing IPL 2019, Imran Tahir has performed brilliantly for Chennai Super Kings taking 21 wickets from 13 matches. He has played a key role for CSK in the middle over to take key wickets and put pressure on the opposition.

Imran Tahir became the fourth South African bowler to take a hattrick in One-day internationals on 3rd October 2018 against Zimbabwe. He recently announced that the 2019 World Cup would be his last tournament in South African colours.



In the 2015 World Cup, Imran Tahir took 15 wickets from 8 matches and helped his side South Africa reach the semi-finals.



The experienced Imran Tahir will play a key role for South Africa to pick wickets and control the run flow on good batting pitches.
