Team India throwdown specialist D Raghavendra has been Tested COVID-19 positive. Raghavendra has been a critical part of the backroom staff of Team India that has helped the batsmen prepare during net sessions. Now after being tested positive as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, suggests that Raghavendra will not be accompanying the Indian side on the Australian tour. 

Yesterday the Indian selection committee announced a full-fledged India side for all formats for the upcoming Australia tour. The coaching staff and players not part of IPL 2020, will soon arrive in Dubai and leave for Australia. 

D Raghavendra Will Not Travel To Australia- Reports

Recently a mandatory COVID-19 test was conducted of all these members of the Indian squad. Unfortunately, India’s throwdown expert D Raghavendra was found to be positive after the Tests and is now likely to miss the Australian tour. 

“He has not gone to Dubai and he will not travel to Australia either,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Meanwhile, Raghavendra is a popular member among the India players as he is a hard taskmaster in the nets. The throwdown specialist has often been seen relentlessly throwing balls at a rapid speed to all the batsmen. The likes of Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan has always admired his work as he makes all the batting stars game ready. 

The Indian skipper has often tagged ‘Raghu’ as the unsung hero of the squad. He has often lauded Raghu’s tireless work that has improved Indian batsmen perform better against fast bowlers especially on overseas tours.

The Indian batsmen are now confident about facing deliveries of around 150 kmph during matches. The acknowledgement goes to Raghu who makes sure that they prepare for it during intense training sessions. 

Furthermore, team India will play 3 match ODI and T20I series against Australia in white-ball cricket. However, all eyes will be on the big 4 match Test series that Kohli also his men won in 2018-2019.
