Star Aussie opener David Warner has been roped into the St.Lucia squad for the 2018 edition of Caribbean Premier League. He will replace his fellow mate D”arcy Short who will be a part of Australia A squad for their Indian tour.

Warner who was suspended for a year by Cricket Australia was cleared to play the grade cricket. A few weeks back, he also found fortunate enough to get into the maiden global T20 league at Toronto which is scheduled later this month.
This signing comes as a confidence booster for the pocket dynamite who had already started warmup sessions in his hometown.

Speaking on the same, Stars’ General Manager, Mohammad Khan said: “We are excited to bring David to the Saint Lucia Stars. David is arguably one of the greatest batsmen of the modern era and a winning player. He is going to add a lot of value on the field and in the dressing room as we pursue our first Hero CPL Title.”
The sixth edition of the CPL will be played from 8th August to 16th September and it will be interesting how Warner can aid the stars to clinch their maiden title.

David Warner was sanctioned a year ban due on accounts of ball tampering actions on the field in the third test against South Africa at Newlands, Capetown.
The Australian ODI team is currently missing the services of the Duo (Smith and Warner) in the limited overs tour of England.
