IPL 2020: Twitter Reacts to David Warner’s Fifty On His Birthday

David Warner scored his 47th IPL fifty and his third this season in a do-die game vs Delhi Capitals in Dubai. Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Sunrisers to bat first. Courtesy of Warner’s quickfire fifty, SRH crossed the 100-run mark inside the first 10 overs. This is the sixth time in his IPL career, that Warner has scored a fifty inside the powerplay.

SRH came into this game after losing to Kings XI Punjab from a potentially winning position. Wriddhiman Saha replaced Jonny Bairstow at the top for the Sunrisers. In his very first match, Saha has been a perfect foil to Warner, who has looked attacking right from the get-go. He has been particularly severe against the Delhi pacers Kagiso Rabada and Arnrich Nortje so far. He has also cropped up to the third position in the list of highest run-getters for this season with 428 runs so far including his knock in this game. He was finally dismissed on 66 in the 10th over. Till then he added 107 runs with Saha.

Wriddhiman Saha, playing his first game for the Sunrisers scored his fastest IPLfifty. Inching closer to the end of their innings, SRH are already past 150 in just the 13th over.

Meanwhile, Warner was seemingly disappointed after Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their last game against Kings XI Punjab.

“Yeah it does (hurt a lot). Our bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict them. After the start we got, we took our foot off the pedal. Felt on that wicket it was going to get tougher once the spin came into it. For us it was about trying to apply pressure upfront, negate the swing bowling, but obviously, we didn’t get across the line” said a dejected Warner after their loss against Punjab.

Meanwhile, this is how Twitter reacted to David Warner’s quickfire fifty.
