With Australia retaining the Ashes within 12 days, celebrated opener David Warner received a wish from his former IPL team – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, it started a few days ago when a fan had wondered whether SRH will have a ‘good’ mega auction before the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Warner, who had a public fallout with the franchise last season where he was stripped of leadership duties before being benched, doubted as well while responding.

Baha doubt it,” David Warner wrote on Twitter.

However, now taking the opportunity, the SRH franchise responded to this. They took to Twitter and congratulated him for being a part of the victorious Australian team that won The Ashes series against England recently. They also praised him as he has returned to form and wished him for having a good auction when he goes under the hammer for IPL 2022.

“Congrats on the Ashes win Davey – Looks like you are back to form and enjoying the after-party! On the other hand, we hope you have a good auction,” tweeted the official Twitter handle of SRH as well.

David Warner to go to IPL 2022 auction

However, during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) David Warner failed to do well and he was eventually removed as the captain of the team midway through the tournament. While Kane Williamson replaced him, Warner was eventually dropped from the playing XI as well.

David Warner is one of the big names of the league. The left-handed opener is the 5th highest run-scorer in the cash-rich league and has amassed 5449 runs in the tournament which came at a stunning average of 41.59 and a strike rate of close to 140 as well.

The Aussie batsman is expected to set the IPL 2022 auction stage on fire if any of the two new teams don’t pick him in the pre-draft.

Meanwhile, the ‘Orange Army’ had a rather forgettable time in IPL 2021 and finished at the last spot in the points table as well in the 14th edition of the cash-rich league.
