David Warner-Michael Slater Involved In Ugly Fight In Maldives: Reports

As per reports, Michael Slater and David Warner got involved in an ugly fight which started with heated disagreement and then went out of hand after the two were seen physically hurting each other. Warner and Slater are in Maldives with the entire Australian contingent of players who played in IPL 2021 before it got suspended. They will be staying in Maldives for a few days before returning back to Australia.

Australian media house The Daily Telegraph had reported that Warner and Slater had engaged in a brawl inside the Taj Coral Resort in the Maldives where the pair are staying. Warner and Slater are long-time friends and have responded to the matter saying that there is no truth in it and that the two continue to be really close friends.

“There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything. Nothing happened,” read Warner’s text as per The Daily Telegraph.

David Warner and Michael Slater were both in news in the IPL 2021. Warner was axed as the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper after the first seven games in the season. The side had lost six games and were at the bottom of the points table. Later Warner was also dropped from the SRH playing XI which became breaking news. Apart from leading the team to their maiden IPL title back in 2016, Warner has been the team’s highest scorer. He has also won a few Orange caps playing for SRH scoring 500 plus runs every season for them since joining the side in 2014.

Slater on the other hand was part of the IPL’s commentary panel and had recently addressed Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison for imposing a travel ban from India and not allowing citizens to enter the country before May 15, when the border restriction ends.
