The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday, July 25 announced the schedule of the UAE leg of IPL 2021. The tournament will resume on September 19 in UAE, with the finals on October 15.
Delhi Capitals (DC) will resume their campaign on September 22 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Dubai International stadium. They are currently at the top of the table with six wins in eight matches and a good NRR of +0.547.
The Delhi-based franchise has won four out of the last five matches played before the IP 2021 was suspended due to covid positive cases emerging in the IPL team bubbles.

Shreyas Iyer, DC’s regular skipper was unavailable for the first phase of the league due to a shoulder injury. In his absence, wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant led the squad. Iyer is expected to attain match fitness before the second leg of the IPL 2021.
Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is leading the chart of Most runs in IPL 2021. He has scored 380 runs in eight matches so far, at an average of 54.28. DC will bank on their in-form players – Dhawan and Avesh Khan (DC’s leading wicket-taker this season) in the second phase of the tournament. They will be keen to continue the good momentum and win their first-ever IPL title.
