India is currently going through an extremely tough time. The entire country is experiencing the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of positive cases in the country is increasing every day. Among all this, the country is lacking certain medical equipment like oxygen gas. There aren’t enough beds available for all the patients. In these tough times, IPL franchises have started an initiative of educating people regarding the deadly virus and convincing them to come forward and help the other people in need.

On Sunday Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore released videos where the players were requesting people to stay at home. They also urged people to wear their masks and stay safe. Pat Cummins as well has come forward to help the people. Many players have pulled out of the tournament due to the increasing number of cases.

This time around, the Delhi Capitals have started a campaign named #ProjectPlasma to encourage people, who have survived coronavirus, to donate their plasma so that it can help other citizens battling the virus.

“The second wave of COVID-19 has gripped our city and many parts of India. The time to come together is now to become responsible citizens and flatten the curve,” the Delhi Capitals captioned the post.

“#ProjectPlasma – A joint initiative by #DelhiCapitals and @feverfmofficial encourages COVID-19 survivors to donate their plasma in the fight against this pandemic. Reach out to the FeverFM team if you wish to donate your plasma and they will connect you with patients at respective hospitals in the city,” the statement from Delhi Capitals added.

Delhi Capitals are on a roll

Last year’s finalists Delhi Capitals are on a roll this season as well. They currently occupy the number two position in the points table. Delhi managed to bag two points against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a thrilling contest between the two teams that ended with a super over.

Rishabh Pant’s team will be seen in action against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday(27th April) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
