KL Rahul is in England with the Indian team which will be playing a Test series against. He has made a strong case for his Test comeback by smashing a brilliant century in the warm-up game. The Indian team won a Test series against England when they toured the country earlier this year.
India will now play the reverse fixture in a five-match Test series. This series will also kick off the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul has shared a picture on his Instagram handle. The picture has the likes of Virat Kohli, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma posing for a picture with Rahul. Amid the serious build-up for the Test series, the Indian players have found some time to hang around as well.

KL Rahul Likely To Open In First Test Against England
Rahul is likely to open the batting for India atleast in the first test along with Rohit Shama. Shubman Gill has been ruled out with a shin injury. He was India’s first-choice opener in the WTC campaign. Meanwhile, the team management has decided to send Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav as covers to England after Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar have been ruled out of the England series.
The Indian team last won a Test series in England back in 2007 under Rahul Dravid‘s captaincy. Since then India lost in 2011 (4-0), 2014 (3-1) and 2018 (4-1). Thus there are points up for grabs in the WTC campaign with a tough series upfront.
India made it to the final of the first-ever World Test Championship that was played. India lost to New Zealand in the final which was played at Lord’s. In lost to New Zealand in a Test series in the group stage as well away from home. Team India beat teams like Australia and England on the road to the WTC final.
