Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja went past 2000 runs in Test cricket on day three of the first Test at Trent Bridge. Jadeja joined KL Rahul at the wicket after the dismissal of Rishabh Pant ealy on the third day. Since then the duo has looked solid and has taken the Indian team ahead of England’s first innings score. Jadeja’s selection in the Indian playing XI was not welcomed by a section of Indian fans who preferred Ravichandran Ashwin over the left-arm spinner.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja went past 2000 Test runs hitting a sweet boundary and has joined names like Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and Ashwin on the elite list.

Jadeja has also joined the all-time list of all-rounders who have done the double of 2000 runs and 200 Test wickets. He is the latest to join the list that includes modern heroes like Shakib Al Hasan and Stuart Broad.
Upon arriving at the wicket, Jadeja has added 46 off 96 runs and have India a lead of 8 runs as the umpires called for lunch. India lost the wicket of Pant in the first session after rain halted the progress of the game.

So far Ravindra Jadeja has proved his selection right by scoring crucial runs at number seven and adding an unbroken run with KL Rahul who is inching close to his sixth Test ton.
India lost three quick wickets on day 2 which pegged them back in the test match. James Anderson dismissed Cheteswar Pujara and Virat Kohli of successive deliveries to give India huge blow before rain played spoilsport and forced the umpires to end the day’s play earlier then expected.
Two more crucial days are left in the Test match and by the end of the third day’s play, one team will have domination over the other.
