ENG vs IND 2021: Watch – Rishabh Pant Undertakes Unique Wicket-Keeping Drills In London

The preparations for the 2nd Test between India and England at Lord’s are underway and Rishabh Pant was recently seen undergoing some unique drills to strengthen his wicket-keeping alongside fielding coach R Sridhar.

In a video uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) official Twitter handle, Sridhar can be seen batting against Hanuma Vihari with Pant keeping, while Wriddhiman Saha and Prasidh Krishna are juggling a couple of balls across the pitch towards each other.

The purpose of that was to distract Rishabh Pant, who was working on his keeping on the leg-side. Along with the video, BCCI wrote:

“How is that for a drill? Fielding coach @coach_rsridhar keeping the boys on their toes. #TeamIndia #ENGvIND. @RishabhPant17 • @Wriddhipops • @prasidh43 • @Hanumavihari.”

Virat Kohli Backs Rishabh Pant’s Short-form Approach In Tests

Team India captain Virat Kohli has backed Pant’s aggressive brand of cricket saying that Pant is not going to change the way he approaches the game. Addressing a virtual press conference, Kohli said Pant knows his role in the side very well and that he understands when to play some quickfire shots and went to go defensive.

“This is basically how he plays. he has the capability to carry on and play a long inning in that manner. It necessarily does not have to be a very defensive role, when there is the demand of the situation, he is intelligent enough to understand. If we are looking to save a game, you would not see him play those kinds of shots. Wherever there is a 50-50 situation and he can change the game, he will take the chance,” Kohli said ahead of the second Test match.

Amid the underfire middle-order, India will want Rishabh Pant to put big knocks in the 2nd Test at Lord’s.
