England and Pakistan will face off in the 2nd T20I on July 18, Sunday at Headingley in Leeds. Pakistan made a stellar comeback in the first T20I after being whitewashed in the ODI’s and will look to continue their winning run.
England will need to ponder over their bowling attack which was shredded in the first game. They leaked plenty of runs in the death overs. They’re missing their end-overs specialist Jofra Archer and need to find substitutes for him. Liam Livingstone posed selection headaches for England after smacking a brilliant century in the first T20I. He now has an assured spot in the middle-order and will look to continue his form.
While Dawid Malan is going through a lean patch, he will be continued at the top. Skipper Eoin Morgan’s form is a concern and he needs to address it in double quick time. Jos Buttler will be making a comeback after recovering from his injury.
Pakistan on the other hand, will be happy with their excellent comeback in the first T20I. Babar Azam continues his form from the third ODI and he found an able ally in Mohammad Rizwan. Their 150-run partnership was the perfect foundation for their pinch-hitters to come in and take advantage of.
While Mohammad Hafeez continues to play the floater role, Fakhar Zaman might come in at No.3 based on the situation. The bowling had the cushion of runs to go on but they cannot expect their batsmen to put up 200+ scores in every game.
