The England Cricket Board has now released the squad for the fourth test at Southampton. James Vince has been added to the squad to change the ill fortunes of the side. However, sources say that he has been brought as a cover for injured wicketkeeper-batsman Johny Bairstow.

James Vince was also called as a cover for Roy in the final ODI of the series, as a “Root special” helped them to retain the number one spot in rankings. On the other hand, Jamie Porter who warmed the bench in last three matches has been left out of the squad which ultimately paves the way to resume his county stint.
