Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 13 runs in the Southern Derby at MCA stadium in Pune. All eyes were on two legends, former RCB captain Virat Kohli and CSK’s MS Dhoni.
Both Virat and Dhoni failed to create an impact with the bat. Kohli scored 30 runs in 33 balls, while Dhoni managed only two runs in three balls. Virat Kohli was at his aggressive best to celebrate the dismissal of MS Dhoni.
In the 19th over of the match, MS Dhoni hit the length ball of Hazlewood straight into the hands of Rajat Patidar. It was a very crucial wicket for RCB at that time because Dhoni had the capability to chase down any total in the last two overs.
Virat looked very delighted and celebrated this wicket of Dhoni in a very fiery and aggressive manner. Kohli burst out in immense joy and punched in the air to express his happiness. This celebration of Virat after the wicket of Dhoni was a shocker for many cricket fans because everyone is well aware of the bond both these cricketers share.

The shot selection could have been better towards the end: MS Dhoni
Chasing 174 runs, the defending champions were in the hunt until the halfway mark before Bangalore made a superb comeback. Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel, in particular, were brilliant in the death overs, hitting the right areas and making it difficult for the batters to unleash their shots.
CSK captain MS Dhoni criticised his batters for playing irresponsible shots. “When you are chasing you know what is required and at times you have to curb your instinct and see what really the situation is demanding rather than playing your shots.
“The shot selection could have been better towards the end. We had a good start and had wickets in hand, the surface kept getting better but we lost wickets at regular intervals. We can look back at some of the shots, if we take care of those things,” said MS Dhoni after the loss.
