Far Away From Reaching My Goal Of Playing For Team India – Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yet another U19 World Cup and yet another star is born for the Indian team. Yashasvi Jaiswal the left handed batsman from Mumbai has left his mark after a brilliant performance with the bat in the U19 World Cup. 

The 18 year old batsman scored 400 runs in 6 matches scoring 50+ scores in all the innings except one against Japan where India had to chase a mere total of 42 courtesy brilliant bowling by the Indian bowlers. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored runs for the Indian team at crucial junctures as the young Indian opening batsman scored hundred in the semi-finals of the world cup against arch rivals Pakistan and scored a brilliant half century in the Quarter-finals against Australia and a well made 88 against Bangladesh in the finals of the finals of the World Cup.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has already been in the circuit for quite sometime after the young batsman became the youngest player ever to score a double century in First Class cricket. As Jaiswal scored  a double ton against Jharkhand in a Vijay Hazare Trophy. 

Jaiswal has already played in the Deodhar Trophy for India B, where he scored a half century against India B to help his team win the Deodhar Trophy. 

After a successful tournament the young batsman has his plans clear and knows he has to work even hard if he wants to play for the Indian team. 

"It is easy to get distracted at this age. You will become what you think; your thoughts make you ,Some of my team-mates do tell me that I should get on to social media; I don’t see why. Since childhood, I was clear in what I wanted to do. I left my home, left all my comfort so that I can reach where I want too. I haven’t reached nowhere near to my dream of playing for India,” he says.

 He wanted to play Ranji Trophy but he landed on the opening day’s play between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh. He has his eyes set on the U23 games and wants a mark for himself in the cash rich Indian Premier League where he was bought by Rajasthan Royals at a whooping 2.4 crores.
