Mitchell Starc and Marnus Labuschagne will be key players for Australia during the Test series against India. The two Aussies are presently playing a Sheffield Shield clash against each other. Fast bowler Starc is representing the New South Wales and Labuschagne is playing for Queensland.

It’s a well-known fact that Aussies love the contest and never back down from it when they are on the field. It was once again proven today when there was no love lost between Starc and Labuschagne as they produced a riveting contest.

Mitchell Starc And Marnus Labuschagne Battle It Out

It all began on the last ball before lunch when Starc bowled a well-directed from around the wicket. The ball bounced awkwardly for Labuschagne and struck his shoulder as he looked in pain straight away.

After the break, the contest between the two renewed as Starc gave a warning to Labuschagne for backing up too far before his delivery. The replays suggested that Labuschagne had not done anything wrong but a fiery Starc signalled him to hold his ground before he delivers the ball.

Meanwhile, the two even had a heated exchange of words with each other as the two Australia teammates looked annoyed of each other. In the last few years, Labuschagne and Starc have both shared dressing rooms and are usually considered to be good friends of the field.

However, come game time both looked competitive against each other while fine-tuning their skills ahead of the big tour of India. Recently Starc had pointed out that he isn’t worried about the critics and is keen on performing during the Test series against India.

On the other hand, Labuschagne very quickly has become one of the best batsmen in the longest format of the game. Batting at number 3 the fidgety batsman has scored tons of runs in his Test career.  Furthermore, Starc and Labuschagne will be hoping for each other’s success when the 4 match Test series against India begins on December 17.
