There will be some retirements, you never know: Sunil Gavaskar
Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar further expressed that some of the senior players might retire from the T20 format following India’s exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup. The next T20 World Cup will be in 2024, with the West Indies and the United States of America as the hosts. Several Indian players, who are above 30 might not be playing till then. Gavaskar said,
“Having won the Indian Premier League on his first assignment as the captain, they would have marked Hardik Pandya out as the next captain. Hardik Pandya will definitely take over the team in the future and there will be some retirements, you never know. Players will be giving it a lot of thought.
