Due to an injury, Jasprit Bumrah was unable to play in the 2023 IPL. He is not expected to return until near the 2023 World Cup later this year.

Mumbai Indians supporters were rubbing their hands together in excitement at the conclusion of the auction. When the team acquired Jofra Archer because it meant that the talented England fast bowler would be partnering with Jasprit Bumrah.

However, due to both players’ injury issues, India was unable to fully capitalize on this lethal combination.

Jasprit Bumrah has not played since September of the previous year

A day after MI’s elimination from the IPL 2023, Jasprit Bumrah provides a significant injury update: ‘We meet again’.

While Bumrah missed the IPL due to continuing back problems that have kept him out since September 2022, Archer participated in six games.

He has so far missed the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup for India. The Mumbai Indians lost to the Gujarat Titans in the second Qualifier of the IPL and also missed him in both tournaments as India failed to win the championship.

Bumrah has now hinted that he might be heading home. He posted a picture of his studded shoes on Instagram along with the message “Hello friend, we meet again”.

It’s been a bit of a mystery how Bumrah is recovering from his injury problems. He participated in a T20I match against Australia on September 25 of last year.

After missing the Asia Cup the month before, he appeared to be well enough to rejoin the Indian team. As they started a bilateral T20I series in preparation for the T20 World Cup.

But he was forced to leave unexpectedly before their series against South Africa. He ultimately missed the T20 World Cup as well.

Bumrah was later included in the team for India’s ODI series against Sri Lanka in January before the home Test series against Australia.

He was eventually taken off, though, and it was revealed that he would also miss the IPL and the Test series.
