Virender Sehwag was one of most fearless batsmen in his era. He had the capability to turn the momentum of games with his fearless approach. Despite batting with attacking intent, Sehwag ended up playing 100 plus Tests for India. Sehwag wants Rishabh Pant also to do the same.

Virender Sehwag believes that Rishabh Pant has the capability to play 100 plus Test matches for India. He said that Pant is a high impact player who is capable of winning matches on his own. The Nawab of Najafgarh said that if Rishabh goes on to play 100 plus Test matches, his name would be written in the history books forever.

“If he goes on to play 100+ Tests, his name would be etched in the history books forever. Only 11 Indian cricketers have achieved this feat, and everyone can recall those 11 names,” Sehwag said in an interview with Sports18.

Virender Sehwag later added that Rishabh Pant would not be remembered much if he just keeps his focus on white-ball cricket. He needs to have a good legacy in Test cricket too. Earlier a few days back, Sehwag also named Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw as the youngsters who could help rule the Indian team in Test cricket in the future.

“Test Cricket is the ultimate cricket” – Virender Sehwag advice youngsters

Virender Sehwag gave an example of former Indian Test captain Virat Kohli in his interview. He told that Virat always kept Test cricket as his priority because he knows if he goes on to play 150 Tests, his name will be etched in record books.

” In my humble opinion, Test cricket is the ultimate cricket. Why does Virat Kohli emphasise so much on playing Tests? He knows that if he plays 100-150 or even 200 Tests, he will be immortalised in the record books,” Virender Sehwag added in his interview.

Sehwag himself scored 8586 runs in Test cricket at an amazing average of 49.3 and strike rate of 82, including 23 centuries.
