“I Don’t Deserve It Right Now “- Riyan Parag On Getting A Place In The Indian Team
Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. He is 20 years old batter from Assam. Riyan has been the talk of the town due to his social media activities and his celebrations on the field. Parag has also failed to win matches with bat for his team in IPL.

Riyan himself admitted that his performance aren’t good enough to get selected in the Indian team. Riyan said: “Winning matches (for my team). I did that in a couple of matches, but that’s not enough. If I can win six-seven matches for my team in a tournament only then I will be in the reckoning.”

“Right now, even I won’t feel good if my name comes up in the probables (list) for the Indian team. I don’t deserve it right now. In the coming season, my confidence will rise if I can guide my team to more victories.”, Parag said while speaking to Sports Tak. Riyan Parag scored just 183 runs in 17 matches in IPL 2022.

Many people felt that Riyan Parag has been given the wrong batting position by Rajasthan Royals team management. However, Riyan feels that he is comfortable batting in lower order. Parag said: “Definitely happy with my batting position. I am not happy with the way I batted though.”

“I want to own that finisher role”- Riyan Parag aims to follow MS Dhoni footsteps

Riyan Parag also revealed that he wants to own that No6/No7 batting position. He aims to nail that  finisher role in T20 cricket which is the toughest job for a batsman. It’s never easy to hit boundaries right from the start of innings. Riyan wants to learn the skill of finishing matches from MS Dhoni.

” I want to own that 6-7 spot. If you look around, only MS Dhoni’s name will come to your mind as someone who has established the role of a finisher. Approaching that, I am trying to learn and hopefully will be able to implement all my experience from next year onwards.”, the Rajasthan Royals finisher added.
