Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in an amazing form for Mumbai in the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy. Jaiswal smashed a century in the quarter-final and then followed it up with centuries in both innings in the semi-final against Uttar Pradesh.
After a superlative IPL 2022 campaign followed by good returns in Ranji Trophy with the bat, Jaiswal is eyeing to improve his leg-spin. He even honed his skills under the tutelage of veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also praised the variations which Chahal has in his bowling. Speaking to TOI, Jaiswal said, “He is a mystery man (laughs). He is also a legend in his department. He has a number of variations. He plays chess very well.”
The 20-year-old further revealed that he wants to become the best all rounder in the world. He added, “I talked to him and have taken bowling tips.“He told me that I can be a good all-rounder. I told him that I want to be the world’s best all-rounder. I want to be the best in both departments – bowling and batting.”
The left-handed Indian youngster said that he wants to excel in all formats of the game and wants to score runs in vital matches. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricketer continued:
“I want to excel in all formats of the game. I know my capabilities, so I trust myself to shine and deliver in each and every format, as all of them are of due importance for me.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal had a decent 2022 season of the Indian Premier League. He complimented Jos Buttler brilliantly in the powerplay. Jaiswal said that Buttler advised him to focus on cricketing shots.
“His words, especially those related to focusing on proper cricketing shots, have been very beneficial to me,” said Jaiswal about Buttler.
“I would think mainly of the strokes I should be playing and what my role for the team was. But yeah, we used to have a lot of conversations during the IPL and I would listen carefully to what he used to say.Whenever I’ve had an opportunity to speak to Rohit bhai (Sharma) and Virat bhai (Kohli), even they’ve told me the same,” added Yashasvi Jaiswal.
