ICC Introduce 2024 T20 World Cup Anthem by Grammy Winner Lorne Balfe

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is around the corner, and everyone’s excited! The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed a brand new anthem for the event, created by the talented Lorne Balfe, who’s won a Grammy award. This anthem aims to embody the essence of cricket, no matter the format.

Lorne Balfe is famous for his amazing music in blockbuster movies like “Mission: Impossible”, “Black Widow”, and “Top Gun: Maverick”. Now, he’s crafted an anthem that will be the official tune for all ICC world events. It’s a big deal!

Collaborating with the ICC: Lorne Balfe’s Thrilling Experience

Lorne Balfe expressed his delight in collaborating with the ICC, describing it as a fantastic experience. His composition, recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London, skillfully combines classical orchestral elements with unique cricket sounds, such as the sound of the ball hitting the bat and the cheering of the crowd.

“It’s been a great experience working with the ICC and composing the new anthem. It’s an anthem of unity and the goal was to echo the spirit of every boundary crossed and wicket taken in this wonderful, timeless sport,” he said. Chris Tetley, the Head of Events at the ICC, shared his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its potential to draw in millions of fans from around the globe.

“We are delighted to share this special project with the world. This new sonic brand identity has been in the works for some time and the process of getting to the final product has been as intricate as the music piece itself. Our objective is for it to bring cricket top of mind whenever it is heard and will take listeners on the journey of highs, lows, anticipation, and triumph that the sport is well known for,” Tetley said.

In partnership with COOL Music Ltd, the ICC has demonstrated its deep love for both cricket and music through the creation of an exhilarating new anthem. The prestigious tournament will span a month and take place in the USA and West Indies, featuring 20 teams vying for the coveted championship title.
