As we inch close to the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, slated to commence on October 17 in the UAE, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has picked his favourites for the global T20 meet. West Indies will enter the competition as the defending champions having won the trophy five years back.
Reply to a fan’s question on microblogging site Twitter, Brad Hogg placed his bets on New Zealand and England as the favourite to win the T20 World Cup. The former spinner also added that Virat Kohli‘s India are the only side that can pose challenges to these two sides.
“@BLACKCAPS and @englandcricket I favour in the T20 format. There is only one team that on paper can threaten both is India,” Brad Hogg tweeted.

India and West Indies could be the other two semifinalists – Brad Hogg
A couple of days earlier, Brad Hogg had picked the four semifinalists – India, New Zealand, England, and West Indies. While the Twitter user had asked Hogg to pick his four semifinalists for the 2021 T20 World Cup, the former Aussie spinner named his four choices.
“India, New Zealand, England and West Indies. That is on what I have seen into the lead up. These teams seam to have stronger batting depth. #T20WC,” he wrote.
