Team India skipper Rohit Sharma was all praise for Jasprit Bumrah following their win in the second Test against England at the Dr Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. They defeated the visitors by 106 runs to equal the five-match test series.
Jasprit Bumrah led the Indian bowling attack in the test match. He rattled the England batters powering India to a comfortable win. The pacer took six wickets in the first innings and finished the match with nine wickets conceding 91 runs. He won the Player of the Match award for his performance. Speaking about Bumrah at the presentation ceremony, Rohit Sharma termed the pacer a “Champion player”. He said,
“He (Jasprit Bumrah) is a champion player for us. he has been a while. He keeps doing the job for the team. When you win a game like that, you have to look at the overall performance as well. We were good with the bat. You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. We wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that.”Â

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma further also hailed Yashasvi Jaiswal, who slammed a double-century in the match. The opener scored 209 runs, smashing nineteen boundaries and seven sixes. India managed 396 runs in the first innings on the back of his knock. Talking about Yashavi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma expressed that the youngster understands the game well, and has a lot to offer to the team. He said,
“He (Yashasvi Jaiswal) looks like a good player and understands his game well. Long way to go for him, has got a lot to offer for our team. That was an exceptional knock, what he did on Day 1, and hope he stays humble and focuses on what is needed for the team.”
