Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on a record-breaking spree in the ongoing Test series against England. He became the first Indian bowler to pick 100 wickets in Tests against England on Friday, February 23 during the fourth match at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
The veteran cricketer achieved the landmark in the twenty-second over of the first innings. He dismissed Jonny Bairstow, who was going great guns in the innings. Bairstow tried to play a sweep but missed the ball, which went on to hit the back of the right. He was caught in front of the stumps.
Ashwin has completed 100 wickets against England in 23 matches and has an average of around 29. He has six five-wicket hauls and two four-wicket hauls versus England. Notably, 86 of these wickets have come at home, while the rest 14 have come in England. BS Chandrasekhar is second on the list with 38 wickets against England in test matches.

India has taken a 2-1 lead in the ongoing test series against England. They lost the first test at Hyderabad but made a good comeback in Visakhapatnam. India defeated England by 106 runs, and followed it up with a huge win of 434 runs in Rajkot. They will be keen to seal the series, winning the ongoing Ranchi test.
