IND vs ENG: [WATCH]- James Anderson’s Exceptional Delivery Knocks Down Shubman Gill’s Off-Stump

James Anderson concluded Shubman Gill‘s impressive century in the Dharamshala Test against England with a typical yet stunning in-swinging delivery. In the 63rd over’s second ball, with Gill at 110 (149), the seasoned seamer induced reverse swing from outside the off-stump.

Gill, a right-handed batsman, displayed a recurring flaw by playing outside the line and away from his body, leaving a significant gap between his drive and the pads. The ball curved through the opening, dislodging Shubman Gill’s off-stump.

This also marked Anderson’s 699th Test wicket, leaving him one wicket away from becoming the first-ever fast bowler and only the third bowler overall to reach the 700 Test-wicket milestone. You can watch the video here:

Over three series and 166 deliveries, Anderson has now dismissed the Indian youngster six times. Gill, his initial victim in the 2018 series with a very similar clean-bowled dismissal, now holds an average of just 15.2 against him.

India maintains the upper hand despite England removing Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma

The wicket provided some relief for James Anderson after enduring a brutal assault in the Test. Four out of Shubman Gill’s 12 boundaries were against the pacer, and he even hit an impressive six, gaining popularity on social media.

Gill commenced the day with a series of boundaries, alleviating pressure on his partner Rohit Sharma, who had also scored a century before being dismissed in the preceding over. Both batsmen seemed poised for more significant scores until England initiated a mini comeback in the Test.

However, India held a 61-run lead with five established batsmen and an improved Kuldeep Yadav yet to bat. Securing more wickets and a spirited batting performance would be essential for England to harbor any hope of clinching another win in the series.
