The Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently facing the Kings XI Punjab at Dubai in IPL 2020. The SRH skipper David Warner won the toss and had no hesitation in choosing to bat first. The explosive duo of Johnny Bairstow and Warner was looking to take advantage of the thin KXIP bowling.

They did exactly that as both opening batsmen toyed with the KXIP bowling attack. Bairstow was the dominant partner as he tormented every bowler of Kings XI Punjab. As soon as he reached his individual 50 his skipper too joined him soon.

David Warner Creates Special Milestone

Warner after completing his half-century created a special batting milestone in IPL. The left-handed batsman is now the only batsman to record 50 scores of 50 or more. The SRH skipper is ahead of the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina who are the top 3 run-getters in the league’s history.

Most 50+ scores in IPL:

50 – WARNER
42 – Kohli
39 – Raina/Rohit
38 – ABD

Interestingly the Australian has played far lesser number matches as compared to the 3 Indian batsmen. Since 2016, Warner has emerged as one of the best batsmen in IPL as he has continued to break several records.

Meanwhile, under his captaincy in 2016 Sunrisers Hyderabad won their maiden IPL title. Warner is that edition scored over 800 runs and led from the front. Overall, Warner in 132 innings has notched up 4933 runs at an average of 43 and strike rate of 141.47.

Coming back to the match, Warner eventually fell at 52 as Ravi Bishnoi took his prized scalp. It brought curtains to a fine 160 runs opening stand between Warner and Bairstow. The Englishmen too lost his wicket in the same over as he was dismissed on 97 and missed his second IPL century.
