The Indian Premier is the ultimate stage where talent meets opportunities. It changes the lives of several budding cricketers and makes them household names. Another addition to this list will be of fast bowler Prithvi Raj Yarra.
The left-arm seamer from Andhra Pradesh will be replacing Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The talent pace bowler Prithvi Raj Yarra landed in UAE as a net bowler for SRH. After Bhuvneshwar was ruled out of IPL 2020, Yarra was included in the SRH squad.
I Was Not Having Expectations To Play For SRH – Prithvi Raj Yarra
Recently the 22-year-old admitted that he was not expecting the call to play for SRH this season. Prithvi Raj Yarra is now extremely excited to make the most of the huge opportunity in the absence of Bhuvneshwar. He added that he will not take any pressure and will look to improve throughout the season.
Yarra said, “Honestly, I was not expecting this call. I was not having any expectations. I came here as a net bowler to show what I am capable of”.
“Well, this is a huge opportunity which has come my way because of Bhuvi bhai’s injury. Expectations will always be there. But I will go with a blank mind and try to do what best I can,” the left-arm pacer added.
“Absolutely no chance of reaching anywhere near Bhuvi bhai’s standard as he is one of the top five bowlers in the world. But, at the same time, I am not going to take any pressure and will try to keep improving,” Prithvi said as quoted by Sportstar.
Meanwhile, Prithvi Raj Yarra continued that he has learned a lot from the big SRH players when he was working as a net bowler. The talented bowler will look to focus on his strengths and perform for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020.
Furthermore, SRH will now face the Kings XI Punjab on October 8 (Thursday) at Dubai.
