Meanwhile, the incident took place in the 19th over of the CSK innings when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was called to bowl by his captain, David Warner, he pulled out of the over owing to a hip injury. Kumar bowled the first delivery to Sam Curran and pulled up his left thigh when he was to deliver his second. The SRH physio then escorted him out of the ground and now will miss the entire season.

Prithvi Raj Yarra to replace Bhuvneshwar Kumar in IPL 2020

Sunrisers Hyderabad have now named left-handed Prithvi Raj Yarra as Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s replacement. Incidentally, he was a part of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2019. His only IPL wicket is his current SRH captain David Warner and bowled only 5 overs in two matches he played for the franchises.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old fast bowler from Andhra Pradesh has not played any T20 cricket since last IPL in April 2019. However, Prithvi Raj Yarra boasts a strong CV in other formats where he scalped 39 wickets in 11 first-class matches at an average of 21.51. In 11 List-A, the youngster has picked 15 wickets and will be a bright prospect for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Second injury blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Prithvi Raj Yaara has already played in the Duleep Trophy for India Red and in the Deodhar Trophy last year for India A. Despite being out of action for a significant time, he will look to set himself in the mix and deliver the goods if any opportunity comes his way.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the second Hyderabad cricketer to rule out owing to injury. Previously, star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh copped a blow in their IPL 2020 opener and was subsequently ruled out. West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder joined the squad as his replacement.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently seventh in the points table with four points from five games. They face Kings XI Punjab, who are at the bottom of the points table, on October 8 (Thursday).
