The Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Rahul Tewatia has become a household name after his heroics in IPL 2020. It all began when his freakish knock at Sharjah where incredibly won his side the match. However, since then he wasn’t able to make a massive contribution and the Royals lost 4 matches in a row.

Then yesterday once again Rahul Tewatia emerged as the comeback king of IPL. Under pressure in a run chase, Tewatia showed his class and took his side home against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After his outrageous knock, popular commentator Aakash Chopra lauded Tewatia and termed him as a special player.

It was his stroke play against Rashid Khan in the 18th over that impressed Chopra the most. The former India cricketer heaped praises on Tewatia after he won yet another wondrous match under pressure when it seemed they would lose.

Aakash Chopra stated, “Everything else is fine, but that 18th over of Rashid Khan, first ball four with a reverse sweep, second ball four with another reverse sweep and an even better shot. The third ball when he hit the boundary over the covers, it was the best of them all”.

“ If you can execute such a nice shot under so much pressure, then Rahul Tewatia, you are a special player. I really like watching you and you won RR a match they were about to lose,” Aakash told in his YouTube channel.

Rajasthan Royals earn two crucial points

Meanwhile, it was a significant match for Rajasthan Royals as they needed winning momentum again to reach the playoffs of IPL 2020. Chopra pointed out that the biggest positive for Royals was they were able to win without any notable contribution from their star players in the match.

So RR registered their third win, which is so important because they had lost their last 4 matches. And they won without Samson and Smith scoring runs and despite Buttler and Stokes failing. So once they fire, what is going to happen,” he added further.

Furthermore, Tewatia received the man of the match award for his outstanding knock off 45 from 28 deliveries. Steve Smith and his men will now take on Delhi Capitals on 14th October at Dubai.
