Delhi Capitals received a massive blow on their IPL 2020 opener as experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin suffered a shoulder injury. He went out straight away and never returned for the game. As the tension continues to rise, Ashwin has shared a positive update which can make the fans happy.

Incidentally, Ashwin landed badly as he looked to stop the ball and seems to copped an injury. It looked bad right from the onset. The incident took place in the sixth over of the Kings XI Punjab innings. Glenn Maxwell pushed one passed the bowler to collect a single.

Ravichandran Ashwin hopeful to return soon

The physio had to help Ravichandran Ashwin come out of the field as he looked in extreme pain. However, the injury was not as bad as it looked. He came out at the end of the game to collect his prize during the post-match presentation ceremony.

Meanwhile, the scan report also showed nothing scary but Delhi Capitals didn’t risk with their star campaigner. They rested him for their next two games and Ravichandran Ashwin is confident that he will return to action very soon.

“Shoulder is not bad. Just getting over it. I’ll be on the field very soon,” Ravichandran Ashwin said in a video on his YouTube channel published on Thursday (October 1).

Ravichandran Ashwin had a superb start to IPL 2020 when Delhi Capitals locked horns with Kings XI Punjab. He removed Nicholas Pooran and Karun Nair in the only over he bowled before injuring his shoulder. That over was the turning point in the game as Punjab failed to chase down the target.

Speaking about Delhi, they have made a good start to their IPL 2020 campaign. They are currently at the top of the points table with two wins from three games. Delhi Capitals lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders next on October 3 (Saturday).
