Yesterday Kolkata Knight Riders completed a thumping victory over the Rajasthan Royals. After the win, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik admitted that his side needs to improve a lot in the upcoming matches. One area that KKR surely needs to fix is their opening partnership.

So far, Shubman Gill has looked at ease but on the other hand, Sunil Narine has batted like a proper tailender. In the last few seasons, Narine was successful at the top of the order but now it seems teams have figured him out.

Sunil Narine Is ‘Kachra’ From Movie Lagaan – Virender Sehwag 

His vulnerability against the short balls is there to see as he wastes a lot of deliveries during powerplays. Now former legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag doesn’t want KKR to continue with Narine as an opening batsman.

Sehwag on his YouTube channel ‘Viru ki Baithak’ admitted that Narine has been very ordinary with the willow. The former opening batsman was at his humourous best and even compared Narine with ‘Kachra’ from the movie Lagaan.

Virender Sehwag believes that Sunil Narine is a quality spinner and should only focus on his bowling during IPL 2020.

“Sunil Narine’s suffering is hard to watch. Despite his failures in past 2 matches, KKR is still making him open against Top bowlers of the world. He is Kachra from the Movie Lagaan’, he’s a good spinner then you’re trying to make him Bhuvan?”, Sehwag said on his new YouTube Channel.

Meanwhile, Sunil Narine has indeed looked out of sorts with the bat in hand. As a result, Shubman Gill has been in constant pressure to execute big strokes during batting powerplay.

The KKR management now will have to get rid of the experiment with Narine as an opener and consider a new batting partner for Gill. Rahul Tripathi or England batsman Tom Banton will likely play as openers for KKR in the rest of the IPL 2020 season.
