The Proteas-born New Zealand opener Devon Conway is in the prime of his career. Just a few months after making his debut he made his presence felt in the world cricket scene. Scoring a double century on debut at Lord’s is not everybody’s piece of cake. He was awarded the player of the series award for his important contribution in the series against England.

Conway has performed phenomenally well in T20I and is currently ranked no.4 in ICC T20I batsman rankings with 774 rating points. He has played only 11 innings and scored 473 runs at a stunning average of 59.12 & a massive strike rate of 151.12. Conway has 4 half-centuries in his name, missing out on a century by just 1 run against the kangaroos where he played the knock of unbeaten 99 runs at Christchurch. Also, he became the 1st NZ batsman to score 5 consecutive fifties in T20 cricket.

The 29-year-old has good enough numbers to impress any T20 franchise in the world. He would provide great value to any team he plays for and will surely become an important asset for the team.

Here are the 3 teams that might sign Devon Conway in IPL 2021:

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR didn’t have a good IPL 2021 season as they are placed 2nd from the bottom, winning only 2 out of 7 matches they played. With the English players pulling out of IPL captain Eoin Morgan is likely to miss out on the 2nd half of IPL.

One left-hander can be replaced by another, Devon can bat at no.4 which was Morgan’s position in the batting line-up and In-form Conway can provide great support & strength to the team’s out-of-form batting unit.

KKR can get the amazing right-left opening combination, Conway has the potential to open the innings with Gill and provide great starts for the team while playing aggressively and providing proper support to his partner and with Rana batting one position down the team’s middle-order will become better.

Even though KKR has another Kiwi batsman who can open the innings and keep the wickets; Tim Seifert. Devon Conway will be given preference over him looking at the current form.
