CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan in an exclusive interview with Insidesport has opened up on his team’s plans to depart for UAE for the second half of IPL 2021. 31 matches including the playoffs and the final will be played over 27 days between September 19-October 15. The BCCI postponed the tournament with players testing COVID positive from different IPL franchises.
Speaking to Insidesport, the CSK CEO said that the team is looking forward to leave for UAE by August 13 or 14.
“The date of the departure has not been finalised yet but we are planning to send the team by 13th or 14th of August. CSK will be flying to Dubai and will start our training from there,” CEO Kasi Vishwanathan told InsideSport exclusively.

CSK are placed second on the points table at the moment winning five out of their first seven games. MS Dhoni & Co will look to capitalise on the good start in the remaining season.
The availability of Sam Curran and Moeen Ali strengthens the CSK squad overall given their all-round qualities. CSK will have MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf Du Plessis all available for the remaining season. They will look to hit the ground running when the entire squad assembles in the UAE.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are also looking forward to leave early for the remaining season However, the unavailability of their few key players who are busy with international commitments means that they will leave for UAE on August 29. The same was confirmed by the team’s CEO Satish Menon.
There are also reports that Sunrisers Hyderabad are close to finalising their dates for departure to the UAE. The side is placed at the bottom of the points table with six losses. They will need to make a big turnaround if they are to garner hopes of winning the title.
