Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been left to decide their own fate in this edition of the IPL 2021. They don’t have to worry about complex calculations just yet. During their three-day break, they saw Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings fall out of the playoffs race.
They only have Mumbai Indians in their way now, tied on 12 points with them. But the Eoin Morgan led KKRhave a much better net run rate, so all they need to do is to beat the Royals on Thursday. And once they’ve done that, they should hope Mumbai don’t pull off a big win – as they did against Royals on Tuesday – against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Royals kissed their playoffs chance goodbye after folding for 90 in an eight-wicket defeat on Tuesday, two days after a big win against then table-toppers Chennai Super Kings. It’s their inconsistencies that have cost them big this season.
They don’t have much to gain or lose from this game, but they do have the chance to jeopardise Knight Riders’ chances, which could keep the playoffs race alive till the final group game on Friday – in that case, Knight Riders will be forced to take their calculators out.
On that note, let’s take a look at 3 players who will be under the spotlight during KKR vs RR Clash during the MPL Fantasy Cricket:
#1. Shubman Gill – Rahul Tewatia
The Kolkata Knight Riders opener who has had an impressive IPL 2021 season and is something to worry about in today’s encounter against the Royals. He’s scored just 3 runs in 4 innings with getting dismissed twice to the Royals Leg spinner.
Tewatia will look to attack gill straight away in the power-play. The explosive batsmen will have some work to do today if KKR needs to go across the finishing line.
#3. Sanju Samson – Sunil Narine
Royals skipper Sanju Samson who is a great player of spin does not look comfortable enough to face Sunil Narine. Narine has dismissed him 3 times in 10 innings, with Samson scoring just 47 off him.
If the Royals want to win today, they need a captain’s knock from their skipper Sanju Samson. It will be interesting to see how they both face each other later in the match tonight.
#3. Rahul Tewatia – Varun Chakravarthy
Rahul the batsman who we haven’t seen amongst the runs for the Royals so far in this edition of the IPL has a very poor performance against mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. He has scored just 10 runs in 3 innings while getting dismissed 2 times.
Both these players are doubtful if they will feature in the playing X1 or not will be interesting to see how they go about their innings according to the match situation.
