Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant provided an update on Prithvi Shaw’s health after his team registered their sixth win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The opening batter last played for the Delhi Capitals against the Lucknow Super Giants and has missed three matches thereafter.

Prithvi Shaw was admitted to a hospital on Sunday due to a high fever. The opener had posted a photo of himself from his hospital bed, informing about his recovery. Post Delhi Capitals’ win against the Rajasthan Royals, Rishabh Pant provided clarity on the opener’s health. He stated that Shaw has something like typhoid.

“We miss him but we can’t control that. He has typhoid or something like that is what the doctor told me,” said Rishabh Pant while speaking on Star Sports.

It was close to a perfect game: Rishabh Pant after defeating Rajasthan Royals

The Delhi Capitals have consolidated their position in the playoff race of the Indian Premier League 2022 season. Following their eight wickets win against the Rajasthan Royals, the Rishabh Pant-led has twelve points from as many games and ranks fifth on the points table.

They chased down 161 runs comfortably at the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday, to win the match by eight wickets. Mitchell Marsh was the player of the match for his all-round performance in the game. He took 2/25 in three overs and led the batting line-up with 89 runs to power the Capitals to victory.

Reflecting on the win, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant expressed that it was a nearly perfect game for the franchise. He also spoke about the wicket that was on offer at the DY Patil Stadium.

“It was close to a perfect game as I believe there is always space for improvement. On these kinds of wickets where there is little turn, you can go either way. I am happy we bowled first. I thought 140-160 was a good score and said so at the toss. And we got there. Destiny is always on your hands, you can look to give 100 percent. The fielding could be better, but this was close to a perfect game,” said Rishabh Pant.
