The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 got suspended in the middle of the season due to a COVID outbreak in the bio-bubble. The prolific tournament was suspended indefinitely by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League will resume soon in the United Arab Emirates. The IPL 2021 is all set to start in September and end in October.
BCCI is already looking ahead to the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League in 2022. The next season of IPL will be packed with a hell of a lot of changes. The marquee event with witness the inclusion of two new franchises, so the competition will become even tougher for the teams.
However, fans have already seen the 10 team tournament in the 2010 season of the Indian Premier League. Also, 9 teams participated in the IPL for few seasons.
IPL Bidding event might start at the end of 2021
According to ANI, some of the IPL franchises are sweating over the logistics like hotel booking as the rescheduled IPL is clashing with Dubai Expo.

IPL was shifted to 8 team tournament in 2014 and everything has been the same till the 2021 season. Meanwhile, things are all set to change with the change in dynamics once again. With the mega auction taking place for the 15th edition of the IPL team will looking forward to renovating themselves.
No official announcement has been made by BCCI but the Times of India has reported that bidding will start in the last month of 2021. Some reports also mentioned some changes earlier teams were given the option to retain 3 players and use 2 RTM cards. Meanwhile BCCI this time will allow teams to retain four players.
Also, the salary purse will have an increment from 85 crores to 90 crores, which means a total of 50 crores will be added to the total salary pool. The teams will have to spend 75% of the money and deduct the amount of retained players from the purse before heading towards the auction table.
The IPL franchise has to find a solution to deal the things in a new way. The huge tournament will provide a huge opportunity for the cricketers to go get an IPL contract by showing their best performance before the event.
