Match 38 of IPL 2022 will see Punjab Kings (PBKS) lock horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday at the Wankhede Stadium. The defending champions are on track after beating Mumbai Indians in their last game while Punjab will hope to bounce back after a couple of defeats.
Their power-packed bating line-up, supposedly their strength this season, has been plagued with inconsistency with the only exception of Liam Livingstone. Jonny Bairstow has also not fired with only 41 runs in four innings. Shahrukh Khan, another one of Punjab’s expensive (re)purchases, hasn’t lived up to his billing quite yet.
PBKS have fared reasonably well with the ball which was touted as their weakest link. Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh have managed to bowl economic spells while Rahul Chahar had led the relatively inexperienced spin department.
Chennai, on the other hand, are slowly founding their mojo back with MS Dhoni’s finishing skills on display in the last game against Mumbai Indians. The bowling, however, is beginning to find its groove and lend support to the ever-reliable Dwayne Bravo.
