In their IPL 2023 opening match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 2. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) player Abhishek Sharma made an extraordinary catch on the boundary ropes to out Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson.

Samson caused the incident by smashing a full-length delivery from T Natajaran towards the deep mid-wicket boundary in the 19th over.

On the edge of the boundary cushion, Abhishek was standing. Despite juggling close to the ropes. He took the catch and perfectly balanced himself.

After hitting four sixes and three boundaries while scoring 55 runs off only 32 balls for a strike rate of 171 points 88. Sanju Samson was removed from the game.

Jaiswal contributed 54 off 37 deliveries, while Buttler hit 54 off just 22 balls. The pair’s combined powerplay score of 85 runs set a new record. Shimron Hetmyer contributed as well with an unbeaten 22 off 16 balls.

Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan each took two wickets for SunRisers Hyderabad, and Umran Malik returned with one wicket.

Mayank Agarwal and Washington Sundar were at the wicket for SRH. They were 38/3 after seven overs while attempting to chase down 204.

Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi were both out in the first over by Trent Boult for ducks. Harry Brook, who cost 13.25 crore to acquire, scored just 13 points in 21 balls in his IPL debut. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled the England batter.
