The daughter of Krishnappa Gowtham receives a high five from MS Dhoni in a cute reunion. After game six of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Monday, April 3, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, and bowling all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), shared a sweet moment. Dhoni also posed for a photo with them as well.
At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, CSK defeated LSG by 12 runs in a game with lots of runs scored. Ruturaj Gaikwad (57) and Devon Conway (47) contributed to a quick 110-run stand for the first wicket as Chennai put up 217/7 in their opening innings after losing the toss and electing to bat. Then Moeen Ali claimed 4/26 to limit Lucknow to 205/7.
Pictures of Dhoni interacting with the Gowtham family were posted on social media by Chennai Super Kings after the game. The CSK captain can be seen giving Gowtham’s daughter a high-five in the opening picture. The legend is seen posing alongside Gowtham and his family in the second photo. The images and captions were posted by CSK.
Gowtham played for CSK in the IPL in 2021. He was bought by the team for an astounding $9.25 crore at the auction and He bowled one over for 20 runs without taking a wicket on Monday while playing for LSG against his former team. He managed an unbeaten 17 from 11 balls while using the bat.
After Chennai’s convincing victory over LSG, Dhoni acknowledged that he was taken aback by how well the Chepauk wicket performed. In the game against Lucknow, Chennai bowled as many as 13 wides and three no-balls.
I was quite surprised with the wicket, the CSK captain said in response to his team’s impressive victory.
A fantastic high-scoring game, it was. We were all considering the wicket’s design.
There could not have been a better way to start a game. I anticipated it to move much more slowly. However, the wicket allowed for run scoring. But we’ll need to see if we can consistently produce a wicket like this.
