Shubman Gill believes that improving certain technical aspects of his game and making a small adjustment prior to a T20 series in New Zealand following the T20 World Cup in Australia has had a significant positive impact on his performance.
Shubman Gill is currently on a tear. For the record, Gill wasn’t chosen for the international competition in 2022 because the team led by Rahul Dravid batted with Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli at Nos. 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
With 851 runs and three hundred in the 16th IPL, Gill—who had previously received criticism for his strike rate—confirmed an “Orange Cap” and led Gujarat Titans to their second straight IPL final.

Gill hit 129 off 60 balls on Friday as the Titans easily defeated the second Qualifier by 62 runs. This sent the Mumbai Indians bowling attack on the prowl for leather.
“I think I’ve improved since the most recent West Indies tour in 2022. I was injured before the most recent IPL, but I have been working on my game. Prior to the NZ series following the T20 World Cup, I have worked on a few areas and made technical adjustments”, he said during the post-game presentation.
The 23-year-old Punjabi man claimed that his most recent IPL innings was probably his best one yet.
When asked how he manages expectations, Gill replied, “Expectations are something that follows you outside the ropes, but once you step on the field it is all about trying how to contribute to the team. Gill claimed that getting off to a good start is essential for him to score frequently”.
“What it is for me is playing ball to ball over and over again. When I hit three sixes in the over, I was motivated to go big. I then came to the conclusion that today might just be my day”.
”In addition, the wicket was favorable for batting. You keep coming up with ideas without really thinking about them, but for me, belief holds more weight”.
”I just finished a successful international season. Had a successful season the year before. I am sure I can score well when I get off to a strong start”.
