On Sunday, April 30, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) struggled to have much of an impact while batting against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2023.

As the toss winner, Chennai elected to start the game with the batting order. Thanks to the 86-run opening partnership between Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad, they got off to an impressive start.

At No, Jadeja stepped up to the plate. After Moeen Ali was dismissed, there were 5 in the 17th over. The Southpaw was tasked with scoring quickly in the last few overs to help his team reach a commanding total.

The left-handed batter, however, struggled to get going and only managed to score 12 runs off of 10 deliveries. Attempting to clear the midwicket boundary off Sam Curran’s bowling in the final over of the innings, Jadeja was killed. Liam Livingstone eventually caught him in the deep after he failed to make the desired connection.

Many Chennai fans vented their annoyance on social media over Ravindra Jadeja’s clunky knock. These are a few of the tweets that received the best responses.

Twitter Users’ Reaction on Ravindra Jadeja:

Many fans have expressed concern about Jadeja’s recent batting performance. In seven games, he has only scored 92 runs at a strike rate of 143.75.

In the matchup against PBKS, Devon Conway shone with the bat for CSK. With yet another brilliant batting display, CSK opener Devon Conway’s stellar IPL 2023 run continued. The batter finished with 92 runs off of 52 balls, including 16 boundaries and one six, and was still unbeaten.

Conway hit a home run during his at-bat, becoming just the second batter this season to surpass the 400-run threshold. In the IPL 2023, it was also his fifth half-century.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Conway’s opening partner, also made a significant contribution by scoring 37 runs. With a 28-run cameo in the middle, Shivam Dube gave the team some energy.

After 20 overs, CSK scored 200/4 thanks to the captain MS Dhoni’s back-to-back sixes off the final two deliveries. Each of Sikandar Raza, Arshdeep Singh, Rahul Chahal, Sam Curran, and picked up one wicket.
