IPL 2023: [WATCH] Ravi Bishnoi’s Brilliance Removes Virat Kohli

The way that young Ravi Bishnoi set up Virat Kohli has remained the main talking point of that match. However, Lucknow Super Giants had other ideas for Monday. On a somewhat slow pitch, they chose to bowl first against the RCB opening pair in the IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli has struggled against spinners just as much as he has against fast bowlers in the IPL 2023. Opponents frequently used spinners in the middle overs of a game, that is why he had slowed down.

Despite their ability to fend off the variety in the powerplay, Kohli eventually fell to a leg spinner. The way that young Ravi Bishnoi set Kohli up, however, was what was still being discussed after that dismissal.

In an interview with JioCinemas, Indian legend Zaheer Khan noted that during the IPL 2023, Kohli used the strategy of stepping out against spinners to relieve himself of the pressure of not getting those boundaries and instead unsettle the bowler.

But by preventing Kohli from leaving the crease, Bishnoi expertly set him up. In the five deliveries, he bowled before delivering the wicket ball. Which was placed well outside the off. He pushed him back into the middle of the crease with deliveries that turned down to the leg side.

The width encouraged Kohli to step out and take the wild swing even though the length was the same. However, the ball slid under his bat and wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran handled the rest. Kohli returned, scoring 31 out of 30 while only hitting three boundaries.

The bowlers from LSG controlled the innings. Before Kohli and Faf du Plessis parted ways, they had put up a 62-run partnership. The following four batters also failed to contribute to the score, and even Glenn Maxwell was unsuccessful.

Faf, who stayed behind to play the anchor knock, also failed to up the ante. Following the rain delay, Dinesh Karthik attempted to inject some aggression into RCB’s sputtering innings. However, he too was forced to leave the field after a couple of boundaries, and RCB eventually settled for 126 for nine.
