Cameron Green Takes A One-Handed Catch To Dismiss Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Cameron Green grabbed a remarkable one-handed catch to dismiss Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Sunday (April 21).

Raghuvanshi was dismissed for just three runs off four balls, leaving the Knight Riders in a challenging position at 75/3. The dismissal occurred during the sixth over of the KKR innings. Yash Dayal delivered a length ball that angled into the right-hander, and Raghuvanshi attempted to chip it over mid-wicket.

However, the 6 feet 6 inches tall Green maintained focus on the ball, executing a flawless jump while managing to balance himself even as he fell to the ground. Green and his teammates, including skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, expressed delight at the remarkable effort.

It’s noteworthy that Green has a reputation for exceptional catches within the 30-yard circle, particularly in the gully position.

RCB stage a comeback against KKR following Phil Salt’s explosive performance in the IPL 2024 match

Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj showcased a disciplined bowling performance, aiding RCB’s resurgence against KKR. This followed Phil Salt’s aggressive inning, where he scored 48 runs off 14 balls, including three sixes and seven boundaries.

Salt dominated Lockie Ferguson, scoring 28 runs off his over, but was then dismissed by Siraj in the following over. Dayal subsequently dismissed the in-form Sunil Narine, caught by Virat Kohli at long off, before removing Raghuvanshi.

As of now, KKR stands at 107/4 after 10 overs, with Shreyas Iyer and Rinku Singh batting. Venkatesh Iyer was the latest to be dismissed, caught by Mahipal Lomror at deep square leg off Green.

RCB aims to respond after suffering a seven-wicket defeat against KKR in Bengaluru earlier this season. They seek their second win after a dismal start, losing six out of the first seven games in their campaign.

Meanwhile, KKR has secured victories in four out of six games, yet suffered a defeat to Rajasthan Royals in their previous match, a last-ball thriller. They aim to resume their winning streak with the aspiration of claiming their third IPL title, following their triumphs in 2012 and 2014.
