IPL 2024: [WATCH] Fan Invades Pitch To Meet Rohit Sharma During The MI vs RR Match

During the Mumbai Indians-Rajasthan Royals IPL match, a devoted fan broke through security to get close to his hero, Rohit Sharma. However, Rohit was surprised by the unexpected fan’s appearance, causing a brief commotion in the match.

The incident occurred while Mumbai was on the field, defending a score of 125 against Rajasthan at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time such a thing has happened; similar incidents involving players like Rohit and Virat Kohli have occurred in the past.

The fan successfully reached Rohit, who was positioned at slip, and proceeded to hug and shake hands with him. He also extended the same gestures to wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, who was standing next to the Indian captain.

Security quickly removed the fan from the field to keep the players safe and the match fair.

The fan successfully got close to Rohit Sharma, who was positioned at slip and proceeded to embrace him

Previously, Hardik Pandya faced more disapproval from the crowd as he was once again booed when he went for the toss as the captain of the Mumbai Indians.

Former India player and toss presenter Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed support for Hardik Pandya amid the crowd’s disapproval. Manjrekar urged the Wankhede crowd to show respect and give a big round of applause to the Mumbai Indians skipper.

Pandya has faced harsh booing from the crowd during MI’s first two matches in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad in the IPL 2024. However, his return to his hometown didn’t bring any change in fortunes.

This season, Pandya has taken over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma upon his return from the Gujarat Titans. The transition in leadership hasn’t been well-received by the fans.
