The first innings was also full of excitement. Witnessing the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper scoring runs was particularly pleasing, but the highlight was undoubtedly Virat Kohli’s exceptional innings of 113* (72), showcasing superb strokeplay that was a delight to watch.
A hilarious moment occurred between the first and second deliveries of the final over of the first innings. The camera caught a female Rajasthan Royals supporter successfully putting on a Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey over her original RR jersey, while the score stood at 173/3 in 19.1 overs.
Adding to the amusement was the Hindi commentary provided by the witty Akash Chopra, who narrated the entire incident.
As the supporter, sporting the RR logo tattooed on her left cheek, put on the RCB jersey, Chopra humorously remarked on the concept of “divided loyalty,” suggesting she might be torn between which team to support.
The focus then shifted to Kohli, facing the over bowled by Avesh Khan, with Chopra likening Kohli to “cricket’s royalty,” a sentiment reflected in Kohli’s individual effort to guide RCB to a respectable total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
